October 2023 update from the chair

Shorter days, darker evenings, like it or not the summer tennis season is behind us now. What’s done is done.

Recently we held the first ever Junior County Tennis Awards at the Alverton Hotel in Truro to celebrate the achievements of the past season. It was brilliant to work as a committee to bring the event together for our tennis community. Thank you to everyone for coming along and supporting the evening. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed putting it together for you.

Looking ahead;

Dream of playing for your county? Winter County Cup is an annual team event competed for by men’s and ladies county teams. Practice and selection will take place at Heron Tennis Centre on Saturday 4th November from 1 -3pm. The event is free to take part in and will be followed by refreshments. That’s tea and cake by the way! E-mail to sign up.

Junior county training – details being finalised, more news soon

The end of summer is not the end of tennis. At my local club recently I saw people enjoying their tennis not only under the floodlights, but in the pouring rain as well. There’s something special about this game I think.

Have a question or need more information on any of the above then let me know.

Enjoy your tennis,

Mike Thomas
