U10's

Julie leads our Mini Tennis programme with an exceptional depth of experience and passion for player development. As an LTA Accredited+ Level 4 Senior Performance Coach, she brings over 30 years of expertise working across every stage of the tennis performance pathway.
Currently Head Coach at Redruth and St Ives Tennis Clubs, Julie has held a wide range of influential roles throughout her career, including Devon County Coach, Somerset LTA Councillor and Workforce Lead, and Tennis Development Manager for South Wales. Her extensive background gives her a unique perspective on how to nurture players from their very first steps in tennis through to competitive performance levels.
Julie specialises in designing and delivering talent identification programmes and creating clear, progressive pathways for young players. Her approach carefully balances enjoyment, skill development, and the right level of competitive challenge—ensuring children not only improve but develop a lifelong love for the game.
A familiar and supportive presence across Cornwall, Julie has built strong relationships with clubs, coaches, and families, and is regularly seen supporting players at competitions throughout the county. She has played a key role in developing a more inclusive and competitive environment for under-10 players.
Julie’s passion for Mini Tennis, combined with her experience and commitment to player development, makes her an invaluable asset to tennis in Cornwall.

Ryan Fern

Ryan Fern

Ryan brings over three decades of coaching experience to his role as Coaching Lead, combining deep technical expertise with a genuine passion for player development. Holding a current Level 4 coaching qualification, he is widely respected for his ability to support players at every stage of their journey—from complete beginners to national-level competitors.
As Head Coach at Truro Tennis Club and lead coach at Boscawen Park, Ryan plays a central role in shaping tennis in the local community. He remains actively involved in the sport himself, recently earning selection for the GB team, which reflects both his ongoing commitment and high performance standards.
Ryan leads our 11–18 programme, where his experience ensures players receive structured, high-quality coaching during key developmental years. He works closely with our Mini Tennis Lead, Julie, creating a clear and consistent pathway for younger players progressing through the programme.
His knowledge, energy, and dedication make him a valuable asset to tennis in Cornwall and an inspiring figure for players of all ages.

Every player who has made a county squad should be proud of this achievement.  Cornwall players should feel PRIDE in representing the county. Our junior core values aim to represent this and the culture we try to create amongst our teams.

Junior County Training

County training is through invitation from our head coaches Julie and Ryan.  Currently held at Boscawen Park, Truro.
