Playing Competitively
If competitive tennis is for you, then whatever level you are at or aspire to be, whatever age you are, there's lots of opportunities for competing across the county and beyond.
This section gives some information about competition opportunities, from local leagues and tournaments through to county championships and national events.

Local Leagues
Most Cornish clubs compete with each other throughout the year in the county leagues. Competitions at local club level are a great way for players to make friends, improve their matchplay and make lasting friendships though tennis.
Your local club or coach can give you more information about our Cornish singles, doubles, and mixed doubles leagues.

County Competitions
County Cup
The County Cup is a national series of inter-county leagues and tournaments organised by the LTA for players selected on merit to play for their county.
To play in County Cup players must meet the eligibility criteria of living or having been born within Cornwall. It's a great honour to be asked to represent your County.

County Closed Indoors
The County Closed is an indoor competition for those meeting the eligibility criteria for playing for Cornwall. Held indoors usually in February/March.

James Webster County Championships
The County Tennis Championships is our flagship event exclusively for tennis players of any ability who meet the County eligibility criteria of either living in the county or being born there. The Championships is always held in the last week of August and is the busiest week in the competitive calendar right across the county, with more players competing during this week than any other.
