Cornwall Ladies 65+ contend with 33mph winds in Somerset

Described by the team as a “tumble dryer” experience!

Cornwall ladies 65+ played Somerset away today (Sunday 26/7) and had to contend with 33mph winds, the noise of the M5, leaves and dandelion seeds whizzing around the court not to mention the heat! Conditions were certainly challenging as was the tennis!

Unfortunately Somerset were simply too strong for Cornwall with both the A pair Susie Scorse and Jackie Rice and B pair Andrea Hawken and Joanne Travis losing to a tricky Somerset first pair. Susie and Jackie secured Cornwall’s only point by beating their second pair in straight sets.
